Lesson 2: Fasting

Fasting is a way that we humble ourselves before the Lord.

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5 NIV)

Jesus tells us plainly that apart from Him, we can do nothing. Zero. We’ve got nothing on our own. But if we remain in Him, and Him in us, we will bear much fruit. We can verbally acknowledge these truths all day long, and I think it’s important for us to do that.
